FOOD MATCHING NOTE: 

Grilled quail with wilted cabbage slaw, grilled flank steak with sautéed portabella and cremini mushrooms, grilled lamb shanks with a summer savoury mustard marinade.

TASTING NOTE:

One of the darkest in colour and most concentrated wines of the vintage. The nose is quite floral and displays fresh blueberry and cassis notes, with a touch of spice. The palate shows good volume, with excellent texture, with some of the ripest and most tactile tannins of the vintage. Acidity is well-judged and lends a sense of freshness as well as giving detail to the palate. One of the more long-term and ambitious wines in 2013.
